SAS interest in Sabena.....?

There is a major rumour warning on this one, but I'm currently visiting some friends in the US and the other day I met a Captain with American Airlines who frequently flies into to STO. He had heard rumours that SAS was showing interest in a take over of ailing SABENA And when you think about what has been said earlier about SAS's new intentions about aquiring other companies it does make some kinda sense, even in all it's increadability.
What is y'all's opinion?

Must have been in the 80's when this subject was under talks... Airline that was called SASBENA. Cannot verify if this rumour has any grounds. Allthough SAS might be after Sabenas routes and slots?
