Go to Google and type DGCA Udaan and click on the link. You'll be directed to the Udaan Website.

For the documents to be submitted after online application, check the guidelines.

There is no mention of the requirement for UID registration number.

As per the notice on the DGCA website, every application including the application for exams from January 2012, they will ask for UID number. No mention of that anywhere. :ooh:

spitfire84
15th Jan 2012, 07:25
send a copy of your UID card if you have one else a copy of your receipt, send it coz they have mentioned it, you dont want to get rejected just because you didnt send it!!:O

In case of any query with respect to online application and submission of
documents, the applicants may contact the helpline at +91 11 26106091. This helpline is
available for the above said purpose only on working days between 1000 Hrs. and 1700
Hrs. The candidate may also e-mail their query on [email protected].

You can Call the above number and confirm the requirement of "UID Aadhaar" with your application.

When i called they said a UID Photocopy is not Mandatory but please reconfirm!

spitfire84
18th Jan 2012, 04:08
it takes atleast 3-4 months to get the adhaar card after you've applied so not everyone will have it but if you have applied for adhaar card then send them a photocopy of your receipt, thats what i did anyway, i think that should b fine, anyway good luck:)

Had given my Radio Nav oral exam, for which the results haven't been declared yet. Also, left with ATPL Air Navigation written too. So, am I supposed to send the form for Air Nav now, with the stipulated fee, and wait for the results of orals?
Or just simply wait for the results to come out and then send two separate forms, in case I don't clear the Rdo oral

I have already submitted the online application and had put 10 years of validity in the Licence Validity as i had to put something or the other. I was not aware of this notice as DGCA has put up the notice today itself. What do i do?

I gave the October attempt ( Cleared my papers so not attempting this one)
and have been watching the DGCA website for a while now.

Am seeing a remarkable improvement in the functioning of the CEO dept over the last few sessions, ever since the scam broke out.
-syllabus has been defined
-examinations have gone online
-applications have gone online
-results were declared really fast in dec, within 15 days of exam.
-The helpline actually responds and answers querries
-DGCA listens to feedback and puts up notices like the one above to inform candidates if there's a problem in the system.
-Question papers in the online exams in dec (oct session) were not crazy with unheard of stuff like previous years. there was a good mix of easy, medium, challenging questions and application was tested, not just rote knowledge.

Except for the delay in holding the exams, they are getting things right.

Still some way to go before it reaches the standards of FAA, Transport Canada and others but just thought i shud appreciate a change for the better when i see one.

YES ...i agree they have improved a lot...good job dgca...

Those who gave ATPL orals for the last attempt which got over on 12th Jan 2012...

have u guys filled up the online forms ...cause atpl orals results are not yet out and the last date to submit online is 23rd JAN...only 3 days to go..and no results yet..

did anyone enquire about this with DGCA ...

Thank you

Aviator09
20th Jan 2012, 06:14
I'm in the same situation too.But I assume, since the results aren't out yet and if DGCA doesn't declare the results before 23rd,they will definitely extend the date of application for ATPL applications.

I WANT TO APPEAR FOR ATPLG EXAM - JANUARY 2012 FOR THE FOLLOWING EXAMINATIONS:
METEOROLOGY - WRITTEN AND 2 ORALS - NAVIGATION & RADIO AIDS, THE TOTAL AMOUNT IS Rs 1500, SHOULD I MAKE A SINGLE DRAFT OF Rs 1500 or 2 drafts, one of Rs 1000 and one of Rs 500.

the instructions just say that you need to make different drafts for general and technical, thats it. nothing about the oral examination is mentioned.

any suggestions !!!!

hi
make 2 separate DD, as 1000rs and 500rs, because you need to enter the separate DD number for the two separate application.

Tried applying for the Rdo Nav Oral, but the form does not accept the details. It says that you need to wait for at least for 28 days to reappear for the next attempt for the oral examination.
Is anyone here facing the same problem?

I'd passed nav. and met. exams before, already, with CPLG category !

I'm currently in SoCal.. currently working out for CPL,which will be done pretty soon !
I still need to clear my regs.. So In which Category should I fill it for ?
This question keeps goofing around with my head, Am I even Eligible ?

Or What should I do,now ?

Thanks, in Advance !

Good luck .

Hey guys, second attempt for NAV COMP this time. I am dazzled as to what book to refer for NAV, as far as the DGCA spitted syllabus goes, I am trying to follow it, but its taking me nowhere.

I need help from you fine gentlemen who have tasted DGCA.

Thanks in advance.:ok:

Mike_Kilo_Sierra

I'm referring to GSPs - Navigation, Radio Aids and Flight Planning. Keith William's question bank too. Attempted Navigation in the last round for the first time. Read only the GSPs and got 66.

Those books are really good and get those if you can because they'll help you later too.

hey guys, i had registered on udaan.nic through the old candidate registration process and found tht after the registration theyve cut out my first name and made my middle name as the first one. I tried getting in touch with them through phone and they asked me to email them instead regarding this. I have emailed them twice regarding the name change to [email protected] to which i have got no replies. Any one else in a similar situation or suggestions??

Hello All,

Having gone through number of threads, I have not got the answer to one basic question.
What is the source of study for all 3 DGCA ATPL papers?
I am going through Oxford books and mostly the question papers in the end.
GSP is good but its kinda late to read them for the coming up Feb attempt i guess.
Anything else? Keith Williams? Are these only question banks? for all subjects in one book or i would have to get 4 books for Met, Nav, Radio and Instruments?
Should these be enough?
If anyone wants to suggest any other book, it would be appreciated if mentioned the source for the same

if u want to study for atpl i'll suggest u oxford book for nav, radio and instrument only for theory part....like if u want to know the topic but if u want to just clear the xam then just go through keith williams question bank.......
as far as i know that radio aids question bank is not available in keith williams so have to study radio questions from oxford only or u have to study the book......
and for met read the I C JOSHI and do all the question which is given at the end of the chap.......
that will clear ur atpl........

I have not yet publshed a book for Radio Aids, but I am currently working on one. It wil be available in about three months or so.

If you cannot wait three months for the new book, the Radio Aids QA&E are available on my Interactive CD which covers all 14 of the JAR ATPL exam subjects. You can get this free with any of the UK-produced 1000 QA&E books from Stirling Books House Mumbai, or as a separate product from the same source.

Hello everyone, :)
It would be great if people who have appeared for Nav ATPL paper could shed some light on types of question asked in NAV ATPL paper,
mainly under the Mass and Balance section, type of numerical asked on M&B, calculation of CG
Also performance based questions.
Not exactly but just a rough idea

simple problems but need an explanation for the following how to solve it..

1) aircraft requires headwind comp of at least 10knts and crosswind limit of 35knts. the angle between the wind direction is 60 deg. calculate maximum and min allowable wind speeds?

2) after take off you can accept upto 10knts of tail wind. the runway QDM is 047, the var is 17deg E and the atis gives wind direction 210 what is the max wind strength you can accept?

3) magnetic hdg 311 deg ,
drift 10deg left
relative bearing of NDB270
what is the magnetic bearing of NDB measured from the aircraft?
