Could someone please explain why the Jetstar flight JQ738 is scheduled to take 95 minutes, Launceston to Melbourne, while all other Jetstar flights on this route take 65 minutes, Virgin 1 hour.
I rang Jetstar with this query but was unable to be connected to someone who could answer.
Thanks in anticipation.

Most likely due to the teenage Indian F/O who is unsure how to buckle his right hand seat belt up.

I have looked at the Sydney - Melbourne flights, one of which arrives at a similar time- 5pm, and they all take 95 minutes.

Going through the schedules it may be an anomaly. Most sectors are 60 or 65 minutes

What's the equipment? Not a codeshare on a qantaslink dash perhaps?

Thank you all for your intelligent and entertaining replies.
I have now checked the Qantas booking site and it shows JQ738 with a flight time of 65 minutes.
I was a bit worried that there might have been an orange and silver Navajo.

OI! :=

Q400 has around the same time as the Jet (give or take 5 min). Even the Dash 300 is scheduled 80 minutes block time.

DIVOSH!

Thought that would get a response!

I knew the 400 would provide a similar blox time. Wasnt sure about the 300 When I used to give a **** and was an aviation nerd I could probably have told you what sort of equipment was used on that route and whether there was a codeshare or not.

Now that years in aviation has crushed my spirit I merely engage in idle speculation. I can't even be bothered to open a web page to check this sort of info these days.
