Good day,

For a foreigner recently migrating to Australia, do they have to bring with them any sort of character certificate from their former country to apply for an Aviation Security Identification Card?

info urgently needed

Cheers

Probably not Code89, as an ASIC would be issued based on facts, not opinions. (that's my opinion, not based on facts!)

Use this company when applying, they have a good reputation for prompt service and would answer your questions.

Short answer is no.

For a non Australian citizen though, the process can be a little more difficult with the ID requirements. In addition to your passport, you will need secondary or tertiary ID. Easiest way of all is to have an Australian drivers licence then ...... voila. If you still hold a foreign passport, they will need to do a check with Dept of Immigration to confirm you a not an illegal non-citizen. Fee free to pm me if you need more info.

And you need to contact your country's DCA for a document confirm that you hold the appropriate valid license/rating/ medical.
Sending the original document with your ASIC application will make the process faster.

BTW you need to apply for ARN first (I think)

When I applied for an ASIC, they required a police check from every country I had lived in for the last ten years.

A little more difficult???

Read 'impossible without the patience of a saint'!

Those guys seem to love taking forever to tell you what you submitted won't work (and even then you'll probably end up chasing them) but rarely have any helpful or sensible suggestions about what will. Its :ugh::ugh: just useless bureaucracy gone completely out of control.

It can be the same for Australian born citizens, even if you grew up in the sort of place where cattle are included in the population statistics and there's no crime because criminals can't be bothered driving that far west to steal gibbers. :hmm:

Too many applications and too few back room boys/girls processing the paperwork (paperwork processing doesn't win media time so find a Minister who gives a crap); the federal government way. :ugh:
