I will soon be doing my MCC and was wondering if any preparation is needed for it? I have not been told anything by the provider but would welcome advice from those that have already done theirs - do you think it is necessary to prepare in some way or is it just a matter of turning up and all will become clear then?

Thanks

DarkSoldier,

Good luck for the MCC. I thoroughly enjoyed the course in November and all the prep I had done was reading their SOP's they gave me.

It would be worth while to watch a few Air Crash Investigation programmes on TV as they'll help with the lecture part.

There will be a lot to take in when you're there, but it all comes pretty clear...with plenty of study each evening.

Good luck and all the best for 2012!

Good advice from S3W.

As well as learning the SOP's its also worth learning all the flying profiles too. For example single engine profiles, rejected take offs, emergency descents and the list goes on. These should be part of the SOP package.

One thing you must do with the MCC is enjoy it. It is a small part of your licence where there is no test. If you put the work in, you will get a lot out of it, and it gives you a little taster of what it is like to work as part of a team in multi crew aircraft which I am sure is what you are striving for in an airline.

Enjoy!
