Hi Guys,
Our Company has several construction projects next year in PNG, namely around Port Moresby, Lae, Madang and Mt. Hagen.
I was hoping to utilise our Queen Air, but have read some threads regarding scarcity of avgas in the country - certainly not good news for a Queen Air operator !!

Has the situation improved ? Is the situation really that bad ? Do any of you local guys have any contacts regarding fuel suppliers and fuel companies ? Maybe this is the excuse i need to upgrade to a turbine ?

Thanking you for your assistance.

Cheers,

Hi 65er, Avgas is available in Port Moresby, Shell / Interoil
 +675 325 5520/8862, FAX +675 325 9278 AH +675 686 6268.

Not sure if still available at Nadzab (LAE)

Here's contact info for Interoil, Mt Hagen
/FAX +675 545 1341 Mobile +675 7318 3663. Email [email protected].

Avgas is available at Tokua (Rabaul)

Interoil is the Aviation fuel supplier and they usually provide Shell Avgas, they don't yet have refining capability for Avgas.

MAF, with prior arrangement, can sometimes help you with drum stock.

If you don't have PNG flying experience, try to talk to some who do have, such as Chimbu Chuckles.

Your first surprise Pt Moresby - Lae will be having to reach LSALT 15,000 within 30nm of departure.

Even if you plan IFR, try to do it in VMC, its quite sobering.

regards, MF

Not always avgas in Daru or Kerema.
Not always in Hagan.
Not always in Madang
All are going to avtur aircraft, like PAC750
