For those who may be interested, now on display.:ok:

BBC News - Hercules C130K displayed at RAF Cosford (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-shropshire-16340375)

Not the best written piece I have to say, but I assume they could be tempting fate with the request in paragraph 4....given that the Museum is family orientated after all...:)

Hercules aircraft are still in operation and are the largest and heaviest planes able to land on aircraft carriers.

For God's sake don't tell Sharkey or WEBF :E

Maybe now they'll take the MSP out of the back of the Belslow and put it in the right place.

Blue Bottle,

You may do well to have another look at the date of that article and the many since - including those on the RAF intranet - which state that for the time being at least, all current RAF Engineering training is to stay at RAF Cosford, with only the Naval and Army aircraft engineering branches currently pencilled in for a move to Lyneham.

Regardless, it's always good to see such a workhorse being looked after properly in her old age! ;)

So now who's going to train the JCB drivers how to break up the rest of the Cosford collection?

So the army and navy aeronautical eng fraternity get a cosy new place together and the RAF remains where it is, in a facility that was earmarked for closure and is now 'saved' ? Seems a bit odd. Have the MoD finally applied a bit of forethought to their future plans ?
