Hercules aircraft are still in operation and are the largest and heaviest planes able to land on aircraft carriers.

You may do well to have another look at the date of that article and the many since - including those on the RAF intranet - which state that for the time being at least, all current RAF Engineering training is to stay at RAF Cosford, with only the Naval and Army aircraft engineering branches currently pencilled in for a move to Lyneham.

Regardless, it's always good to see such a workhorse being looked after properly in her old age! ;)

So the army and navy aeronautical eng fraternity get a cosy new place together and the RAF remains where it is, in a facility that was earmarked for closure and is now 'saved' ? Seems a bit odd. Have the MoD finally applied a bit of forethought to their future plans ?
