I'm looking at buying an iPad in Hong Kong but using it primarily in the UK. Does anyone know if the 3G will work and (if it will) the best supplier in the UK to go for? or should I just get wi-fi?

Thanks, Ll

Bought mine in HKG and have used it all over Asia, Middle East ans some parts of Europe. So long as you have roaming or buy a data SIM in each country - no issues whatsoever. Have fun!

Llademos,

As far as I am aware, the iPad 3g is 3G plus GSM Quad-Band architecture, therefore it will work wherever any one of those frequencies are present in the world.... which is most of the globe these days.

Thanks, Icarus and Mixture. I'm buying it on Wednesday, hopefully - over £120 cheaper than the UK, which will pay for a year's 3G :)
