Strange thing here, I was waiting patiently for SilsoeSid to be 'Outed' as a walt and sudenly the whole thread disappears. either the OP pulled the thread [why I have no idea ] or otherwise?? Quite odd eh?

I can only suggest that the thread starter pulled it.

Probably because the request for a certain pilots name was supposedly for friend, a cadet 16 years ago, so that he could fill in his cadet record book. However, it was in fact for a different 'legal' reason, as mentioned in the link to the Army Rumour service.

Unfortunately some names had been passed on by pm before the scam was discovered.

I believe the Mods have the power to resurrect a thread, which I hope they do, as I along with many others, was looking forward to A.Agincourts findings :ok:

Silsoe you really have not changed over the years. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

Surely consistency is a good thing :ok:

So what isn't there to understand about the suspicion?
A post appears on PPRuNe asking for an Army pilots name from a trip 16 years ago, in the guise that an air cadet wants to fill in his cadet book and needs the pilot to sign it.
On the same day a post appears from a brand new member on the Army Rumour site asking for the name/contact details of an Army pilot that flew someone 12 'or more' years ago, for some signature on a legal document.

When the 2 different posts are matched up and posted here, the thread gets pulled.....So whats not suspicious here then?
Would a Cadets Record of Service Form 3822 from 16 years ago really need this much attention?

As was hinted by others, perhaps some other 'legal' issue is lurking in the shadows!
:suspect:

Looking to contact an ex-Army Air Corps pilot...

Ahoy Shipmates!

I need to contact an an ex-Army Air Corps pilot I once knew for help with ratification of a legal issue. The long and the short of it is that I need a signature on a legal document to confirm the contents are true and correct (to the best of their knowledge...blah...blah).

I don't think it's appropriate to post the name in open forum so I am requesting PMs from those members who might know a rotary driver from Wallop from about twelve years ago, possibly longer. Unfortunately I don't know how much longer.

As you might have guessed from my greeting, I'm in the Senior Service and can provide suitable i.d. and at least one reference from a current AAC Sqn CO.

I am not from the CSA or such like or constructing some elaborate police sting. I genuinely need your help to find someone who can help me out with a sworn signature.

yours aye,

Zulu

Cant the 'AAC Sqn CO' that is prepared to give a reference confirm the contents are true ...etc
Anyway......don't AAC Squadrons have OC's?
:suspect:

Actually Sid, the name that PPI Zulu was looking for was not one of those that were in the PM.

MightyGem;
Actually Sid, the name that PPI Zulu was looking for was not one of those that were in the PM.

Glad to hear that.
Perhaps this has highlighted that being helpful so soon and without a full picture of why someone needs someone else's name from so long ago, may not be such a good thing!
