I saw the ad today for the above positions at Brisbane & Mackay on the SAAB ( freighters??) I presume.
Does anyway have any info re these jobs, flight schedules, conditions etc??
From previous threads I looked up I gather Pelair pays only 2010 Pilots award rates for these positions ???
If so that means a SAAb Capt with ATPL, Turboprop and MECIR allowances makes $63,200 per yr. Plus other award conditions like LOL cover etc???

Please save the REX/Pelair bashing comments, I've read the previous threads on this forum.
Easy to bash every job and operator out there when you have a better flying job yourself, some of us are not so lucky.

I would appreciate some info from anyone who has actually flown these aircraft at this particular operation and can give some accurate info.
Pm me if not wanting to post.
Thanks.:ok:

What he said except expect to work max duty/min rest most of the time. Guys/girls at the coalface good but above that......:ugh: :ugh: and no I don't know of anybody who would go back.

It is unashamably a stepping stone, except for a few who wanted to see out their days in a place of their choosing.

That said, hard work, but fair, SAAB above award, but when time to move on, with their blessing.

All work within FAIDS, if you don't like FAIDS complain to your MP, as if he could give a stuff. (Elwction Time Excepted) (Sorry Nick X, you do care)

It is Fatigue Audit Interdyne... More or less FRMS, Fatigue risk managment system that means that you can pretty much fly till you fall asleep... or atleast that was what the company would have let happen when I was under it.

Are they freight or mining fifo work???

Both, night freight Bn and Mk, FIFO Bn, TL, and AD not to mention charter to/from wherever. Expect your frequent flyers to rack up quickly.

Saab captain is $80 000, FO about 53. Good guys and girls on the line, management are useless and work you to the bone. Constant irregular duties of night freight and pax FIFO work, min rest. Alot of 15 hour shifts under frms.

use it for what you can get out of it young man. Were all prostitutes in some form or other. Some just bend further than others and you can expect to be doing plenty.

Such a change.
People are now turing their nose up at a freight run in a Saab 340..
We thought it was great when the boss put a Seneca on the run in lieu of the C182!.... luxury!
We are becoming very precious!

Thanks for the input everyone.
Anyone know the cost and time of the bond for the SAAB endo
or do you have to pay for it upfront out of your own pocket??
Are you paid during endo/line training ??

I would be very interested to see the answers to those questions, Aussie. If you pay for an endorsement, then it is yours and there should be no bond period. If you are not paid for line training, then you have no obligation, moral or otherwise, to stay. If the company funds your training, then there is a reasonable expectation that you will give a return of service.

Used to be 24 month 30k pro rata by the month bond, this was a couple of years ago.

Are you paid during endo/line training ??

Yes but as a new start I have no idea at what rate.
