Hey all, new guy here.

Anyone in the Philippines know the pay rate for the local budget carriers? Cebu Pacific, Airphil Express, ZestAir and AirAsia-SeaAir?

Rates for Captains and FOs would be great.

I know this is rather straight-forward, but i'm an aspiring airline pilot, having just gotten my private license, and was really wondering if airline pilots really earn that much... or if I should just plot out a career in general aviation.

Also, i've heard that AirPhil is taking on low-timers who are willing to self-fund their own type ratings, but initially as "Limited" First Officers. Is this standard practice, or just an AirPhil thing? And what's the difference between Limited and Regular/Full FO, task and schedule wise? Do they get the same pay rate and all that?

Again, my apologies if my queries offend anyone, chalk it up to simply not knowing better, i'm new here. :\

JDC,

Did you do your PPL in the PH ?

I hope someone will add some info to your post as im also curious on the pay rates for pilots in the PH .

However, im at the other end of the spectrum, im looking for a DEC A330 job, but I know only A320's buzzing in the air in the PH , however, A320 is fine for me as long as the pay is good and lot's of days off.

Get you CPL , no one will take you seriously with a PPL.

Good luck .

Yep, that's the plan!

I've actually already mapped out a path with my flying school for my CPL+IR, with an option for an ME rating as well.

This post was just me dabbing my toes into the pool, and seeing what floats up to the surface! You never know, plus any information is always helpful!

I've read some of the other threads, specifically the griping at the Cebu Pacific threads, but I don't think i've heard or read anything about Airphil or Zest.

So any information would be greatly appreciated, especially first hand info from guys who've been there.:}
