I see he's in town again, I wonder if he's here to announce something with Virgin. It's been a little quiet lately with the beared one.

Maybe he is here to unveil a new super jet that can get from the UK to Australia via Kenya in about 6 hours.

On 7th dec he was at Euston station for a Virgin Trains event, met with the Mayor of London Boris Johnson then had an interview with Sir David Frost before flying to Kenya.

A bit of basic research goes a long way.

That is not what the email said.

V Australia & Pacific Blue has been renamed Virgin Australia and Polynesian Blue has been renamed Virgin Samoa.

Next victim please :ok:

Let me guess, he will douse us in his witty banter, make some smutty remarks, perform some foolish stunt or play the flute and have his troops blindly follow along like the pied piper. Maybe he will announce some sort of synergy which of course will only be for the benfit of the travelling public?
When will somebody cut this hemmerorrhoid free from it's host and ensure that his ridiculous fake tanned plastic enhanced face never graces our shores again?

Personally, I will be happy if he is out here to announce he only has four months left to live. F:mad:d.

I agree with Cactusjack, couldn't have said it better myself.

I think he is a misogynistic dinosaur.

OMG, I cant believe that Lord Branson still has a hold over such a large diluded flock. Wipe the drool off the floor boys. You are obviously mere plebs because if you have real skills and a decent career desire you will amount to nothing working for him unless you are a corporate kiss ass. You are yet to get pineappled. Is that what you are boys, kiss kiss?

And it has got nothing to do with tall poppies. I have a lot of time for people like Clive Palmer, Warren Buffett, who themselves slot into the 'tall poppy arena' on their own merits, as well as a few other interesting characters, very very wealthy, but not conceited con-artists. But I guess every master has his lap dogs, hey boys?

Branson is a tosspot

I think they are referring to the fact that we have seen it all before. My guess is that he is sensing blood in the water with QF and is here to take advantage of that in some yet to be announced but predictably flashy stunt

Smart business. Maybe he has heard that QF are thinking of removing The Spirit of Australia from their aircraft and he is here to establish the dinky di credentials of Virgin Australia...

Now where has he done something like that before???

1. No I don't work for Virgin.
2. Yes I do have myself a respectable job.
3. I admire Richard for his unorthodox views & determination.
4. I enjoyed the part where he stuck it up British Airways.
5. I enjoyed the part where he stuck it up Qantas.
6. Virgin Galactic is a fantastic idea.
7. You may wanna check your definition of "tall poppy" as you are definitely a casualty this time. But that's okay, I can understand your level of education & training is probably something not to be talked about.:ugh:

I admire anyone who achieves success.

I have great admiration for what Borghetti has done for VJ. I understand he had to fight RB for the right to do it, but credit where credit is due VJ is better having Borghetti and Branson let him do it.

However unbridled enthusiasm for Branson shows IMHO a lack of education about the guy.

Having started as a supporter I am now (and have been for at least 10-15 years) decidedly in the detractor camp. I would suggest anyone who has read extensively on the subject would be the same. I have more respect (amazingly enough) for the likes of Trump who are men of their words, for better or worse. Branson in business is twisty, slimy and generally an all round slippery character. And (from a girl I knew very well) extremely distasteful to deal with when one is the object of his affections.

What about Virgin to China,...

He may not be here for aviation purposes. There was a fluff piece in the local Murdoch fish-wrapper about the bloke who runs Virgin Money. :hmm: Murdoch fluff pieces are often followed by Big Announcements a few days later; maybe there's a new credit card coming just in time for Christmas.

I admire anyone who achieves success.

Manson, Bin Laden, Bryant? Please define success. If you screw over a large number of people to achieve personal wealth is that success?

Have a read of this and see what you think then...

Shades of Jeremy Clarksonitis here I think : jealousy of a man who has been more successful than most.

Branson is not a nice man, very few people who create empires and get to the top are 'nice' people, they've done it at the expense of others. There is a lot of truth in this :
he is twisty, slimy and generally an all round slippery character.

This type of remark is quite unacceptable :
Personally, I will be happy if he is out here to announce he only has four months left to live.

I don't like the man, nor his airline, nor his business ethics, I've had dealings with him, and his airline, he's false, he's mercenary, and he's devious. He's also extremely smart, perceptive, gutsy, and deservedly successful.

Let's keep a balance.

Deservedly successful I disagree with. In his early years he was nothing more than lucky to escape the arm of the law. He has had several close scrapes since. Murdoch for all his faults is the 'better' man.

However, anyone who shows up Joyce to be incompetent in the airline industry has my vote (in this instance).

I just do not like Bransons approach to life and other people. His recent success is through finally listening to people he employs to run his businesses. It is not a trait that sits easily with him. You must remember that the Virgin Group as a whole is little more than a franchise. His persona is a very different thing, and it is NOT what is published in the media.

Cactus,my Mother expresses a similar opinion. He does have a handshake like like a wet fish,However, I have no direct business experience of the man to comment further.
I always found it humorous that the unofficial RB biography was available in QF terminal News agents,However, not in VB terminals and vice versa.

Do I work for Virgin . Yes

Am I stunned at the depth of hatred for an individual to the degree that one poster is happy to hear of his imminent death. Yes

PPRune at its worst.

Unbelievable.
