In a tragic accident a Helicopter crashed in a pond next to the airport at Kitchener Ontario (CYKF). One person fatally injured and another in hospital. The flight was apperently a dual training, on which the female instructor was fatally injured.

This is really terrible. Such a young woman who leaves behind a young child.

My r/w instructor quit because he was tired of "students trying to kill me every day." To be fair to the student, it's unclear what caused the accident. However, it happened and it's very tragic.

Could it of been a wire strike? The doorposts & windshiled damaged and in the news report it had some wires in the flight path, Looks about what might of happened.

TBH lots of instructors do say that and it has always struck me as one of those tired old cliches of instructing. It's a sad accident but nobody knows what caused the accident at this stage (as you say; qualifying your implication) and teaching someone to fly a helicopter is not without risk.

In my experience, nearly all people are cautious in their control inputs and have to be encouraged to be more assertive in their management of the aircraft (but it takes time to put it together). Students trying to kill you every day? Complete rot.
