Personally I'd do it and just be professional. As a maybe slightly strange example (but it was the first one that springs to mind) imagine being a Doctor in a prison and being asked to treat a serial killing prisoner - you may not like the surroundings or even want to treat the guy but you do it as a professional and leave emotion at the door. In a time when jobs are scarce (I'd go anywhere!) I'd be leaving emotion at the door! but that's just me.

Further to my previous message... do they need anyone else??? (B737 rated and desperate here! - I don't have any problems with working wherever!)

nepotism, if you've been offered a job flying anything, take it and hold on to it for dear life.tough it out for a year or two and then move on to bigger and better things.

if you don't want the job, can i fill in? :p

Chaps, I qualified with my CPL/IR about two years ago and since then no sniff of a job.

I've kept myself current and in conversation with a family member about 6 months ago they mentioned that they knew someone who could get me a job working in the land of my grandfather. I've never liked anything about the culture of my family, the country in which they heralded from I’d even go so far as to use the word hate but I have been offered a job flying jets for their national carrier.

The catch is that I have to live amongst those people, eat the same food, the thought sends unpleasant feelings through me however I’m considering turn it down and waiting to see that happens here in the UK.

Am I crazy?

I guess I need someone to tell me to leave my prejudices at the door, suck it up and do it. Would you do it? :}

Yeah I had that feeling when I moved from NZ to the UK :}

But it wasn't that bad in the end ... use and abuse, get those hours and get back to civilization!
