Interested in Oxford

I am interested in going to oxford to do the intergrated atpl course. However moving to Arizona for 5 months as part of the course is something playing on my mind, has anyone done this before or reccomends other aviation schools in which it is all based in the UK, but still doing it integrated way?

It seems you don't like to stay abroad for 5 months to conduct your flight training but you want to be an airliner or general aviation pilot.
Ok, let me tell you that this job will often require you to stay away from home for days, months and sometimes even years...

Other schools are CTC Aviation, but it has part of the training to be done in New Zealand. If you don't want to leave Europe at all give a look at FTE Jerez - one of the greatest flight school with OAA and CTC.
If you don't want to leave the UK, then there is Stapleford and other schools. You gotta search.

Doing all the flying in the UK would be incredibly expensive, and also very difficult due to the poor weather. I think going abroad would be one of the best bits?!

I promise you the 6 months in Phoenix will be the best of your life. Learning to fly a couple of hours early in the day (awesome in its self) followed by chilling in the US for the rest of the time! Amazing weather, BBQs most days, road trips to Vegas, LA, San Diego, Grand Canyon. I miss it :{

As far as I am aware if you wish to go down the 'Integrated' route then all of those who provide such a course will expect you to do a 'fair weather' flying stint abroad.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong but I believe Stapleford, although offering a 'zero to hero' course based fully in the UK isn't actually officially recognised as an "integrated' training provider.

As others have said, remaining in the UK will be CONSIDERABLY more expensive, and ask the majority of pilots and they will tell you the best part of their career was fair weather training abroad!

In theory, it should be more expensive doing all the training in the UK, but Oxford is still one of the most expensive training providers out there despite the fact that they do some of the training in the US. I know for a fact that the US based instructors are very well compensated for being a light aircraft instructor.

The year-round VFR weather in Arizona is definitely a plus though.

You will see that the only integrated schools in the UK are Cabair (?), Oxford, CTC, FTE, and WAAC

Yes, and then they finish up the IR in Bournemouth after Perth.

If you are only 12 as your profile indicates then i would not be too worried at the moment.
