View Full Version : Skippers getting Q400's

I heard there was a chance that Skippers may be acquiring Q400 aircraft. Apparently at the request or due to customers being unhappy with the string of aircraft that arrive at some ports/mines and the mix of types. Some passengers are complaining about which aircraft they are assigned (ie; “but I want to go on the Bras as I will get home quicker than the Dash”) which is causing headaches and an admin nightmare and requires more ramp and ground crews at the mine.
The companies would prefer a single aircraft and are prepared to renew contracts elsewhere to get what they want. Qantaslink and the F100 operators are also out there, very actively marketing and looking for work.
Does anyone else have any further info on where they are coming from or when?

QLINK Q400's will be out and about to more WA ports pretty soon I think!

The performance charts are already done for several ports. :ok:

Into Q500s?

PS: Where is the first boat? No target sighted on 507 or 508...

Ops to KGI to commence fairly soon.

Interesting range of 'Future RPT/Charter' ports in the ARDM. :ok:

I here there are a few airframes and crews available in the US (as of August when the below company gets closed down!), that skippers maybe interested in, they already have 457 Visa approval.

Hasn't the Dash8-400, got a flight manual limitation that states must be operated by Skygods only?

As I understand it, the tyre pressures on the Q400 may limit their use in WA. A great machine to ride in (provided you don't have hand luggage), but a bit savage on runway surfaces.
