First of all, as this my first post here - Hello ladies and gentleman.

I have a quick question, I am working in flight ops for a business charter company in europe. I seem to have a problem grasping the complexity of US customs procedures (it seems like US customs have the same problem though) - especially at KMIA. Is anybody familiar with how exactly does inbound/outbound clearance procedur work there? Or maybe can anybody direct me to some kind of a manual or anything containing valid information on the subject. So far I have managed to get different info from Landmark at KMIA, local customs and various trip support companies - everybody is saying soemthing else...

Thanks on advance for your help

eAPIS is not necessarily the only requirement and some airports, KTEB for example, have their own jobs worths, sorry, officers who require you to secure approval before you land.

For KMIA, why not get the answer from them direct rather than via a trip support company who assumes they know what they are talking about.

Miami customs: +1 305 526 7155

Works every time for me, regardless of the airport.

If you would like help submitting eAPIS, in and out of KMIA, let me know.

On TSA, check the latest NOTAM for requirements - FDC 0/6432 is the reference.

Hope that helps.

Cheers gentlemen, I am aware of the whole eApis thingy, I meant what Viking has mentioned. We are flying to KTEB quite often, so I am familiar with their procedure, KMIA was a bit of a suprise for us though. I have called KMIA customs multiple times and nobody there was able (or wanted) to explain..

Anyway, thanks for your time gents

Have you checked out the US Customs & Border Patrol website as well? This is the section for private flyers, tho' presumably you need the one for not private flyers. http://www.cbp.gov/ (http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/travel/pleasure_boats/private_flyers/)
They are the ones to go for the decals, which can be purchased online.
