I have just had a 'phone call from a friend across town (Rochdale) to say that he observed a flight of 3 aircraft, heading north, a twin jet (airliner?) and two smaller jets (escorts?) Anyone any idea what that may have been? The 'phone call was timed at 12:47.
My thoughts are that it may have been somthing heading for Warton.

The Canadians where in the area at that time on there way into Prestwick. two flights, 1 airbus with 4 F18's and another Airbus with 3 F-18's. there was also a CP140 involved.
