3 years overseas: kept up with SDSR issues (mostly through here!), social networking has helped, read the news and tried to 'keep up' with the RAF changes/challenges. What might I have missed? MM.

The station you served on has been closed, your last Squadron has been disbanded because the aircraft have been scrapped and all your mates have been made redundant! On the plus side, if you get pregnant you can get out of being deployed, take a couple of years off and still have your job in the typing pool kept open for you. :)

Huge price rises in all essentials such as gas, electricity and petrol due to the government believing everything that greenpeace/w.w.f./ f.o.e. tells them.

The Royal Navy is now so short of kit that there is no immediate readiness warship on the board. Link

You can't wear a Poppy - 'cos it upsets some communities. One of those communities is 100 miles from Wootton Bassett - and the parade might upset someone from the aforementioned community. You can't have a Christmas tree - 'cos some communities religion's aren't Christian. The most popular new born boys name is Mohammad.

Half the competent people you knew back in UK have now emigrated.:cool:
All government services have been outsourced to The Muppet Show.:rolleyes:
The country is so deep in the financial hole that it's cheaper to keep digging for Oz rather than try to climb out.:{

Don't unpack your bags.

We have rolled out the black carpet for your return, unfortunately it is still full of potholes from last years snowfall......

Oh and ditch all that rubbish you have been planning to dispose of for years before you return, because your local council will only empty your dustbin once a year after having had someone search through it and spy on you to ensure you are only throwing away the correct sort of rubbish.....

Oh and if you are looking fwd to being home for Christmas, don't bother, they are trying to ban that to as Un PC and in danger of upsetting the none Christian population in this Christian country!!!

Real ale pumped by hand into a glass, which you can walk to a dingy corner table of a pub built in 1231. :)

Personally I don't like such modern theme pubs, give me one with some history every time........

What might I have missed?

Being able to read stories like this in the news, knowing that politicians and judges in this country can sleep well at night because they believe that they have been fair.
