Re the day of industrial action by the public sector unions on 30th November I wondered about the likely impact on air travel that day.

I known that the Civil Service Union is keen to make as much impact as possible, so no doubt (some) immigration and customs officers will be out. Not sure about NATS though, or airport fire services. How have airports coped in the past?

I am flying to the Caribbean on the 29th (aircraft returns overnight to be back in LGW on the 30th), so (selfishly) was wondering about a possible cancellation in anticipation of the action.

Even if Immigration do get involved in this, you wont notice much difference arriving back into LGW as there'll be the usual 2 staff working the EU passport holders in the 300 passenger deep 'snake queue', whilst the rest of the world queue of about 20 will be 'fast tracked' by the usual 7 or so staff.
