I was watching the X-Men film earlier (nothing else on the 500 other channels :uhoh:) and there was a scene within the first 20mins where a senator was leaving in a helicopter, a Bell 222 of some sort. As he came to the helicopter in his limo he seemed to pass by the wing of an aircraft that looked to my eyes to be an Avro Lancaster. This piqued my interest as to where this might have been as there can't be too many Lancasters around and this one looked to be in very good condition, possibly even flightworthy. The film was from the year 2000. Any one here know ?

I don't know the answer to your question, but this may help. The filming locations are here: X-Men (2000) - Filming locations (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120903/locations)
That shows that a lot was shot in Canada, there are a few Lancs in Canada, including an airworthy one. A list of surviving Lancs is here (may not be complete/correct): List of surviving Avro Lancasters - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_surviving_Avro_Lancasters)

So perhaps it was the CWH example, it's not a complete answer but it's the best I can do for now.

Thanks for the reply, I forgot all about asking the question and have just remembered :ugh::p Well, as they seemed to do a lot of the film in Canada and the Canadians have at least one Lancaster still in one piece, then that's that. I had thought that maybe there was a collector somewhere in the states with an example, although the one seen in the film looked to be in top condition.
