Finally got around to buying one of those small portable hard drives to back up my PC....saved all my important stuff...photos and files but I would like to backup my email addresses and internet bookmarks,

I wonder is there an easy way to do this, I'm running with XP.

Nick.

Depends a bit on which browser you are using and which browser version.

But for IE, you'll probably be looking at something along the following lines :

(1) Select File -> Import and Export.
(2)Select Export & click on "next."
(3)Select Favorites & click on "next."
(4) Choose a location your external drive as a backup directory
(5) Click on "finish" and your Favorites will be saved to disk.

Alternatively....backup your personal profile.

Login as another user with Administrator privileges and use robocopy to backup your profile to an external drive.

Partially....

1/Select "Bookmarks" on the menu bar and go to "Show all bookmarks".

2/In the window, click the import/backup button
(look for the star icon)

3/ Choose "backup"

4/ As above, name it & tell it where to save.

Another vote here for Mozbackup (http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/), takes care of it simply. :ok:

Ok so far so good...but do I click backup or Export HTML,

Backup saves it as bookmarks date JSON

Export HTML saves as Bookmark HTML files.

Why not do both? That way you're covered for all eventualities.
