Air France, Emirates, Singapore Airlines, Korean Air, China Southern Airlines and Lufthansa are the only carriers flying the massive aircraft.

Only?

Sounds like quite a few to me!

Well, there is a discussion here in the ME section...

Seems that is wasn't a hydraulic but an electrical problem

Indeed. And fail: he forgot Qantas... having written about the Oz company the sentence before, it's a bit ridiculous.

I was on this flight and one of the cabin crew claimed it was a generator failure.

Airframe was A6-EDI and at landed at HYD at 22.04Z/22nd Oct.

After 8 hours 10 miniutes I departed HYD to DXB on B777-21H A6-EMK,which was flown from DXB to pick up the balance of the stranded pax who did not fly out on the scheduled flight EK527.

No panic from any passengers prior to landing.

The IFE cut out some time before the emergency landing,so some sort of power failure seems likely.
