Looks like CX is hiring DEC for bases other than HKG
But will be placed on the freighter fleet for atleast 3 years

AKA Rapid Command

Look like the pilot shortage has hit home

More info and application on their website

Cathay Pacific - Careers : Careers Home (http://www.cathaypacific.com/cpa/en_INTL/careers/flying/rc)

I never thought I would see the day when CX would hire DEC's

It was there on the CX website in the earlier when i published this post .
They seemed to have removed it

Requirements for Captains was 6000 total with 3000 Jet PIC international ops

Would be assigned to the Freighter fleet for atleast 3 years before you could bid for the passenger fleet

Preference for 747 type rated and Widebody PIC

So was the rapid command position really there, or was it a mistake by the IT dep?

A mistake by IT, symptomatic of the cuts made by the mill-owners. CX crew even have trouble accessing their rosters from the system, and I won't go into the double-taxation shambles which is happening now.
