Is the IPAD 2 a useful tool for the Jeppesen airway charts?
I haven't personally used it, but have been told by a friend that it makes life much easier in the cockpit.

I am going to start my TR soon, and am wondering if this tool makes life much simpler?
Flying a long route, and instead of opening multiple charts, finding position on second chart, etc etc.
Does the IPAD 2 make it much easier, and keep everything simple?

Anyone use this while flying?

Yes it is very useful. It can be updated very easily online. It is also a very expensive subscription to Jeppessen, I don't know of any individual that subscribes to it out of their own pocket and if the company you work for have a subsription you need to know if they will allow you access to it on your own personal iPad.

I think world wide is Euro 11-12K a year.

sovereign680,

How many people can use that for the price?
Did you pay for it on your own, or does your company provide for that?

In my experience its 4 users per subscription.

Each serial number does indeed allow four "site keys" so each subscription allows four devices, these are automatically issued on a first come first serve basis.

The aircraft does not itself use a site key.
