Hi. I asked some questions here earlier regarding the noise abatement procedures of NAS and SAS 737NGs, I have a couple more. First I want to explain why I'm asking so that my questions might make more sense/be easier to answer.

Some of you might have heard of, or even played the simulator from Microsoft called Flight Simulator X, at it's default condition the simulator isn't much of.. well a simulator, at least it's not simulating real aircrafts as they behave in the real world. There are however some pretty ambitious addons to this simulator that are more realistic. One of those is the PMDG 737NGX.

Because there are so many different configurations and options for the aircraft it would be impossible to have every single airline's options accurately simulated at launch. At the moment only some North american/South american carriers have accurate configs. (There might be some more at the time of this writing)

I wanted to help the developers out by making the simulated SAS boeing 737-800 as close to its real life counterpart that is possible in the simulator. But I need your help ;)

I thought I'd post a "template" for all the different configurations that are available, most of them are hopefully already accurate, but some are not.

As the template is sort of copied and pasted from the simulators "control panel" there are a lot of abbreviations etc so everything might not be completely obvious, I'll try to clarify as much as possible if there are any confusions.

I understand that there are many different configurations also within the different aircrafts of SAS, so this question is regarding a Boeing 737-800 with honeywell MCP, Winglets (might not be of relevance).

Also, another disclaimer here, as this is a simulation some of the settings might be only relevant in a simulator and therefor might not make any sense for a real pilot, sorry if any such anomalies were included.

Thank you diper, kjempefint ;)

The "AUTOFLIGHT AFTER TAKEOFF" Setting has been changed to "AFTER TAKEOFF WHEN TOGA PRESSED", what I/they mean there is what lateral actions will the AP/FD take when the TOGA switch is pressed.

Just out of curiosity though, do you always arm LNAV and VNAV on the ground when performing a SID?

Mulig jeg missforstår men TOGA trykker man når du setter takeoff thrust på bakken.Da gir autothrottle den thrustsetting som er satt in i FMSen. Autothrottle armeres på Gate før enginestart. V2 speed settes inn i speed vinduet.

LNAV armeres alltid hvis du har en SID. VNAV armeres ikke før Flaps er up. Ingen flapspeed protection i VNAV.
AP flyr wingslevel eller track fra liftoff til 400` AGL deretter slår LNAV inn hvis den er armert.:)

VNAV armeres ikke før Flaps er up. Ingen flapspeed protection i VNAV. Does this mean that SAS uses the older FMC U10.7 version on their 737NG's or do the newer ones have the same limitations?

EDIT: And also one other question: If you do not use VNAV until Flaps are up, do you use LVL CHG for vertical guidance instead? Or just MCP Speed?

Diper

Just MCP speed. Speed bug is set at V2 for T.O. and stays there until cleanup at 1000'. VNAV or level change after flap is up. Normally VNAV. :8

FMC update, I dont remember.

HAH!
LNAV/VNAV on stand. 800/800 in page 2. Speed goes to 230 until flaps are up.
Fly the damned thing like it's designed to do...

Perhaps not so important but I have never worked on any SAS 738 which had airstairs fitted.

Thanks Avionker, any errors that you guys can correct are important to me :)
