I know this is one well beaten thread but I have some questions that I'm hoping someone can answer.

Ok, I'm well aware of the feelng out there when it comes to this cadetship thingy but there are only a couple of things I'm wanting to know about the testing.

Has it (the testing) changed much from recent threads started on prune?
Has anyone been successful in getting through the program to the airbus?
Once you've got to the aircraft is this mob really that bad to work for?

Thanks guys,

Rocket.

Don't know about the cadet thingy, but as far as working for them, my young bloke has no problems. His job lets him live here, he is not a S/O on QF forever more, (and lets face it, at the present time being a QF pilot has no guarantees whatsoever) JQ being cheaper to run, has more chance of survival in the current climate, the basings are mainly in attractive places which gives you a opportunity to enjoy whatever you do outside flying, and whilst the money is as not as good as QF you have to weigh up the security of the job. Put it this way, I have two in QF and one in JQ, the JQ one is the happier, less money, but happier, the main complaint he has is they are flying his ass off, but then again he is really looking forward to the "Dreamliner" to arrive. Mate, if you want to fly then bite the bullet, any airline will do to get you started, and see where it all takes you.

TG - Excellent! Could not agree more. :ok:

Too easy for old hands or so to say run away...

One has to ask themselves could you run away from it if you had your time again? No chance! Yep I am encouraging my lad to follow his dream. Once you have the bug you have the bug and just want to fly. Take the politics out of it and it is a fantastic job.

If you're in it for the long haul just be careful who you work for. The rot starts at the top and no one wants to work for a@se?oles all their lives. It's not all about the money, and you'll be happier if you work for decent management.

After previous experience I wouldn't even apply for a qantas group company at the moment.

Now if someone would answer the original question, I'd be interested in whats happening.
