Hi Guys,

I may be going to Chile from London/ near Europe in Autumn/Winter this year; I wonder whether pilots can tell me what is the likely routing? This will help me decide which side of the plane to sit!

I appreciate that winds on the day will affect which trans-Atlantic track we'll be on.

Thanks for any clues,

Tim

You won't fly on a north atlantic track.

Down over spain/portugal and down along the coast of africa and over the ocean etc.

Great Circle Mapper (http://www.gcmap.com) will give the Great Circle route of any two airports. Looking at LHR-SCL for example, will give a rough guide to your routing.

Surely your first question is to home in on the fixed points, as LHR-SCL isn't available in one sector.

MAD is the most obvious change point.
