One of my father's scrapbooks contains an invitation to him from the 'Directors of Anglo-American Corporation (Malaya) Ltd.' to witness demonstration flights of the '1960 Twin Engine Cessna 310-D Aircraft on Sunday 20th March 1960 at the Kuala Lumpur Flying Club'. The aircraft commander was to be Dallas W. Cederberg.
I was taken along for the ride, which I have never forgotten and which was to be the turning point of my life at the tender age of 8. It gave me the inspiration to become a pilot; I qualified as such 9 years later and flying has been my livelihood ever since.
My father wrote on the invitation after the event: 'David flew along with the Minister, his 2 sons and me. The aeroplane was painted a dashing red and yellow'.
Can anyone shed any light on the origins of this flight, or the aircraft commander? It's a long shot...
