Was rifle-shooting at the RBL owned range adjacent to Culham Lock (E of Abingdon) yesterday (Sunday 4th.) when a twin - boomed, single engined light aircraft with a bulbous nose/cockpit flew overhead. Could this be the 'Optica', if so what is the current state of play?:ok:

I am pretty certain that I recently heard that one was still flying in the UK, but have no more information. Sorry.

There were a couple lurking in the Aces high hangar at North Weald a couple of years ago.

Chinese seem to be assessing viability of restarting production

Gentlemen,
Thank you for your inputs, good to know that complete aircraft manufacture is alive & well within the UK.

The Optica was flying from Thruxton to Sywell for the LAA Rally but due to the poor weather on Sunday morning returned to base and never made to Sywell
