Funny you ask that. On Channel-7 morning news I saw a guy wearing a flouro Maroomba Airlines safety vest pushing in a patient into a hospital after being rescued by a RIO Tinto Jet. I think the story was about the marathon joggers getting burnt by fires.

Maybe Maroomba is the medical airline that use the VH-RIO jet?

Cheers, KP

No, Maroomba is NOT a medical airline, it is simply the organisation that operates the RIO jet which is owned and crewed by RFDS except for the flight crew.

New flight crew for the Rio jet are ex-RFDS. Maintain seniority at the doctor but have to switch to Maroomba conditions whilst they operate on their AOC. Looks like the doctor might be shifting to operate the jets themselves in a few years... This is a rumor network isn't it...:}

To the original poster... Apart from contracted medical retrievals in the jet they like the government and mining contracts...

Dash8s are on Skytrans AOC, Hawker Jets and King Airs, Maroomba. Not all Hawker pilots are from RFDS.
