After working for over 10 years for an Australian based airline I fancy a change. I would like to move to UK and work for a UK based airline. I've checked both the BA and Virgin Atlantic websites. They require crew to hold an EEA passport. I only hold an Australian with a UK working visa. Does anyone know if they will accept this? Any advice gratefully received. Are there any fellow Australians who have jobs with UK based airlines and what are there experiences transferring?
Thanks

If you have the correct visa - ILR (Indefinate Leave to Remain) or work permit then there should be no problem.

You don't have to be a European to work in the UK. Have a look at this link:

UK Border Agency | Working in the UK (http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/workingintheuk/)

It might give you some advice.

There were plenty of Australians working for easyJet, based in UK, with Australian passports and working visas. Once the visa ran out, they had to go home. See easyJet Careers (http://www.easyjetcareers.com) for more. I know they are accepting applications for LGW now.
