Hurricane landing incident, North Weald August 28th (Pilot OK)

Heard via a source at NW that the based Hurricane, BE505/G-HHII, had a gear collapse at North Weald on Sunday afternoon. Pilot got out, supervised the recovery, and went off to fly another aircraft. Fortunately no injuries, and the aircraft will get repaired. Nothing in the way of official confirmation from anywhere, and not reported in the media AFAIK.

Best that way - no bad reporting full of errors and no 'plumetting'!!

A report from someone on site at the time now has it as a simple 'Forgot to put the gear down' and the pilot had the radio turned down so did not hear the warnings from ATC....Oh well, lesson learnt, one hopes.
