Hi,

Would anyobody be so kind and let me know their emergency procedures (could be manufacturer or operator) in case of ATR 42/72 following failures:

LOW PITCH AFTER TAKE OFF
LOW PITCH IN FLIGHT

I am interested particularly in sequence of actions and which activities are done from memory. If your company had done some modifications to ATR procedures I would like to know why.

Anything on that topic would be appreciated,

The low pitch light indicates a propeller at flight fine pitch limit
Any power applied to an engine in this situation would overspend the prop and most importantly apply drag to the extent that level flight may no longer be possible.

My company procedure and that recommended by at ATR trg centre is to feather the affected engine as soon as possible.

A climb in any phase would not be possible as I've seen in the sim atleast.

Regards.

Dzien dobry!

I'm not familiar with -500 series ATRs, but on -200/300 series aircraft, there is no LOW PITCH AFTER TAKE-OFF procedure, only a "LOW PITCH IN FLIGHT" memory item (as described above).

Also, I doubt any aviation authority would approve an operator variation to a manufacturer-produced memory item.

Never experienced it in flight, only in the sim - it's quite unmistakeable...

Cheers
