Pict: A new Eurocopter?

Hello,

I just get some picts of 2 ''new'' Eurocopter on the web few days ago. (Now, those pict are vanished......:rolleyes:) .
It seems an EC130 mutli-engine, obviously one with Arrius (F-ZXBB), and the other one with Allison (F-ZXBC), I guess...
I don't have any informations about this heli, reason why I put this photos here: Someone know anythings about this stuff? Proto? kit? Name?
I'm just curious!!

I can see why they would want to try the Arrius concept, but can't really see what the point would be in trying the Allisons - wasn't the whole point of producing the 355N with the Arrius to improve on the 355F1/2 with Allisons which was underpowered?:confused:

Interested to hear more - always thought a twin variant of the B4 would be a sensible option.

that crossed my mind - if they are then they're very good, but it does make more sense that they're fake than the prospect of someone actually fitting Allisons to a 130.

Yep, crossed my mind too: First of all, it's pretty strange to see a prototype (F-Z....) with emergency flotation... but why not?
And the other one is landed ''out of Eurocopter'', we can see a Bell 230 behind, and it's curious for a new machine ECF not officilaly revealed...

they're fake than the prospect of someone actually fitting Allisons to a 130.
Maybe they're put 2 Allison 250C47!!:E

Due to lack of similarity of noise pattern in engine cowling compared to fuselage it is possible that this part of the image is added on.
But the difference could also be due to subject failure or grading of the image.

Subject to camera angle of view, lighting and reflections are in the ball park.

This airframe looks much like a composite kit that I looked at on display at Oshkosh. Wish I had taken some pics...

I think... if you look at the interface between the engine intake grill and the oil cooler cowel it looks to be at a slightly different angle to the centre line of the aircraft.

A. if it is photoshop job it's well done, shame about the perspective line.
B. If it is Allisons I hope they are C47's at least

The French version of the G-INFO website, shows both registrations are not allocated and in any case a prototype would be F-W***

You're right, but helicopters operate by CEV (Flight Test Center) are on F-Z***: F-ZAB* & F-ZJ**
And F-W***, it's only for civilian prototype. Military prototpe are F-ZV** (I agree, this heli doesn't look a military project!;) )

Nothing about F-ZX**, and yet, the Eurocopter X3 is registred F-ZXXX....

I can't see anyone fitting anything other than a C-47 and the whole setup on top looks a little small for 2x C-47 in my opinion.

The exahust ducts on the C-30 and C-47 series would tend to make the installation look more like an S76 whereas this looks more like a twin squirrel installation.

And there was me thinking the 5° centerline offset angle of the PS'd AS355E/F engine bay was some clever attempt to solve right skid low. :E

I'd suggest that this is the image that the engines, rbf tags and covers have been lifted from in the first image above. Have a close look, creases in the covers, same angles of the rbf tags, they're identical.

Only took a few minutes looking through Airliners to find it ;)

And sure enough, here's the donor image from the second image above. Look carefully at the reflections, all the same.
