Hi everybody,

I am looking for a loss of licence. I am currently flying in south east asia. I am in touch with a company called Hiscox/Global flying. I was wondering if anybody here would have any information on them? Are they reliable? Are they easy to deal with?
Also if you have any other company to recommend it would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

I have used them myself and found them quick, efficent and very helpful. My premium was reasonable too :ok:

Just be a little careful in selecting your insurer. If, for instance, you have a UK licence but are flying on a foreign licence and insured with a UK company then the insurer will only pay if you lose your UK licence permanently and that would be a CAA decision based on medical reports from their approved doctors and specialists.

A company with a name like 'Global' may be a better option but be sure to make certain you know which licence is insured and which authority the insurer will be guided by.

Thank you. You are right. I talked to them and yes they will only pay if I loose both licences. I could loose my medical here and not loose the JAA one. In that particular case they will not cover mer.
So back to square one.

And no I am not making any publicity. We all have to send a first post don't we?;)

Cheers
