At least 12 people were injured when an Antonov-24 slid off the runway in Russia's Far East city of Blagoveshchensk on Monday, 8 August. The passenger plane operated by IrAero skidded off the runway at Ignatyevo Airport (BQS) and reportedly broke apart after it staged an emergency landing. The aircraft, en route from the Siberian city Irkutsk to Khabarovsk in the Amur region, was carrying 36 people when the accident occurred.
