Let's discuss this most unusual activity performed in the very low skies over the areas of Parigi, Cijulang and Batu Karas in West Java, Indonesia. Let's ask Colonel Irwin over at Pangkalan Udara Tasikmalaya, the Gov. Ahmad Heryawan and the bupati Engkon Komara what they think of Susi's activities in these areas. Is it good that they violate air safety and proper training procedures just because they are in Indonesia. Let's remember that almost all the pilots are young middle to upper class white boys - Susi's husband and her apparently don't want any other kind of pilots (well, the odd female but no Indonesians!)

Mentioned in another post, Susi "flying school" and Susi Air are really just a flying club. And they are disturbing a lot of people.

To talk about illegality in the skies of Indonesia and single out just one company is a far cry from fair. Also their isn't any need for accusations of racial discrimination, or comments about upper class white boys. The pay scales at susi air are a far cry from upper class.

Northern... coming from canada, you would probably be sensitive to such a remark as we made in the original post. That is not meant to spread "hate" - the word commonly used by multiculturalist. mindbenders in the west - but the plane - I mean plain - fact is that Susi herself and her husband have instituted an ethnic hiring policy. Perhaps that is another illegal act overlooked. Javanese over Sundanese is one problem over at Susi Air.

Anyway, the real problem is that Susi and Christian have taken over Nusawiru and the skies over Cijulang as if it wree their private property. The crown logo tells it all - the bloody arrogance of this Freiherr trying to show off the royal blood. Word is that Susi figures royal blood also flows in her veins along with the gin...

There is more traffic at this little airport all caused by PK-BVB of late and it is over the top = pardon the pun

Wow what a bitter and twisted individual you are. I suspect that you are a bit dissapointed that you have never had a chance to fly with Susi! There are many other companies in Indonesia who have less stringent pilot qualification levels just look at the Indonesian hull loss record there is a good reason Susi is selective!

You are big time wrong. Years past, I did some instructing for Susi's flying circus and beleive Christain has put together about as safe of an operation that you can have in Indonesia. It isn't Oxford, E-Riddle, or UND. But by Indo standards, it's very good and non-partisan. Any time we had a local applicant in the class, we were told to do what ever we had to in order to qualify them SAFELY. Some made it and some didn't...they certainly had more chances then the expats were allowed.
Of the local that made it through the flight training, I think one or two made the upgrade and left for greener pastures. I was never aware that any one applicant was reject soley on race or creed. Well....maybe a few Canuks.:=

You may not like Susi...and many don't, but she and the Baron run a good operation in a very difficult area with constantly changing rules forced upon them. Pang-town and the local villages see a good bit of her money being circulated through the community due to the flight school's locale.

As well, there are no Mountain tops hosting aluminium with Susi Air logo on them.

She wouldn't be my first choice to the Prom and we don't care for each other, but she runs a good business and about as safe of an operation as you will find in Papua.:ok: Talk to the pilots that spent three or more years there before they moved on....they will probably tell you the same. thing.

planebored, its clear to me from previous posts of yours that you have issues with susi air, as the other fellow said, everyone here notices that youd really love to have an opportunity to drive susi's caravans but for some reason you just cannot do that, my advice is to stop hating and start to do something useful for your life and try a position at other crap airlines so common in your country flying old CASAs

Noise is noise and since Nusawiru is not meant to be a training airport, maybe Susi and Christian could just go somewhere else. OR the instructor could be a bit more imaginative and have his "boys" do their circuits somewhere other than populated areas. Susi gets Nusawiru simply because it's close to her house in Pangandaran. Is that a good reason to designate it as the place to set up a maintenance hangar and use the airstrip (1.4 km only) as an aiming point for approaches many of which are never completed with subsequent landing and takeoff. Susi flying school is unwelcome in the area of Cijulang, Parigi and Batu Karas. They are just supplying regular envelopes to the DepHub crew there to overlook what they are doing wrong legally. Trust us, we have witnessed her handing cash to Hendra Gunawan, the DepHub incharge.

Personally, the typist likes flying the Van but prefers other aircraft :8

Still a few days b4 Idul Fitr and it seems Susi Circuit Training has flown the coop. Could it be the permit to land in Bandung not being paid for on time? A day or two of silence is certainly nice. What are the Pangandaran pilots doing: drinking up at Bamboo or chowing down at Relax?

Independence Day, August 17, was a really rude stunt: flying over Cijulang doing the usual silly circles while national celebrations were in progress! And Susi prides herself as a national entrepreneur... Then another 3 or 4 days of non-stop annoyance with PK-BVB leading the performance. Why can't you people just find two waypoints somewhere unpopulated and pretend they represent a runway? Most approaches are aborted landings or flyovers anyway. Why bother 70,000 odd people with your selfish stunts?

Even after the crash in Papua involving David Cootes and Thomas Munk - pilot / loading cargo error it was and don't let Auntie Susi the Dragon Lady tell you otherwise - they still persist with this "show must go on" attitude. Who are they performing for? The Trans TV crew that shows up all the time in Batu Karas?

This is the only company that flies its planes in circles over populated areas just so junior CPL holders can rack up hours. What a disservice to aviation!

How can You be such a stupid and ridiculous guy to blame a dead Pilot for the accident without any proof or oficial information? About the circuit trainings that You are so upset about, let me teach You something cause its clear to me that youre far to be a real pilot, Susi Air planes uses Nusawiru and Pangadaran area to do initial and recurrent trainings because there is their training center, unless forbidden by DGCA or a conditioned airspace is created in this area nothing forbids Susi Air to do their touch and goes in the airport, I believe only Susi planes are currently operating there and Nusawiru area is far to be a overpopulated place so I dont see a reason to cancel their training just because a internet hater is bothered with it. Im sure that the mosques singing everyday at 4am is way more disturbing than an beautiful PT6 noise passing by a few times during the day

When one lives in the area, one knows a bit more about Susi Pudjiastuti. That is enough to hate for although there are those who have been wronged in businesses other than aviation who might forgive her. Hard to say. She remains the focus although we can safely say with her record of bankruptcy, her husband probably has more to do with what's right about management at the company.

Touch and go at Nusawiru is not what that airport was built for, even if by the corrupt Tutut. A couple of flights in and and out every day is OK even if it is by the morally bankrupt (that word again!) Susi. You underestimate the population and we are not only talking about the environs of Nusawiru. Have you ever listened to the droning of the PT6 all day from the ground? Try it. It's annoying; like a giant mosquito. It would be more pleasant to be buzzed by the 70 year old De Havilland variety come to think of it! At least that plane sounds cool! Lots of people are disturbed, not just this writer. And it's the pilots who should hear the complaint, not Susi. She doesn't listen to anybody, not even her husband, anymore. She just wants cheap accommodation for the pilots so she uses her estate and swing in Pangers / Batu Karas for that. Great for you surfers huh?

And mosques are more predictable. Does your flying club post its flight plans anywhere public? NO! Don't like mosques? What's wrong with them?

The Nusawiru Flying Club is an extension of Susi and her husband's imperial (note the crown) arrogance. Know what the word sombong means? That's what this outfit is and the nerve of them: all on credit!

Monday Oct 17 and Tuesday Oct 18: more loud antics over Cijulang including a glide on left-hand eastbound approach to the runway. Naughty, naughty! Right over peoples' houses and low too. Wouldn't get away with that back in Waikapo or Winnipeg would you?

Susi's loud departure in an Avanti at 2215 on Sunday night wasn't much appreciated either. Did Col Irwin over at Lanud Tasikmalaya authorize it? Did you turn on the id lights or leave them off as has often been done and noted with the Vans on their nighttime visits in the past?

Why not dislike an airline or flying club noted for such effrontery and arrogance?You middle to upper [economic] class white boys should have a heart for the 70.000 odd people you disturb with antics that could well be exercised anywhere in underpopulated parts of the archipelago. Do you need to fly over an airstrip when you've got GPS and Garmin screens? Why Nusawiru? Cause Susi's cheap and has Ahmad Heryawan in her pocket.

Note your company is under USDoJ investigation for financial matters we have learned. Could it be "duit haram' or money laundering. Maybe the Freiherr will slip out but Tante Susi is likely to take a fall.

Hey, just an aside here but daughter Nadine was detained briefly at Tasikmalaya airbase when she landed there illegally recently. Just borrowed a Caravan for the day so she could go up to Tasikmalaya - Ciawi to extend her visa! She's not an employee apparently so she actually used a visa even though she was flying illegally. What a company!

Begitu sombong dan berani keluarga Tante Susi yang terbang seenaknya dengan pesawat-2 yang dibeli pakai kredit. Terbangnya tanpa ijin, melanggar undang-2 aviasi / udara. Seharusnya Menteri Luar Negeri, Menteri Kehakiman dan Menteri Perhubungan semuanya malu karena sekongkol dengan Susi hanya di sogok dengan FREE FLIGHTS! Jadi pilot Susi Air melanggar aturan terbang yang berlaku, mengimpor pesawat tidak bayar Bea Masuk, memperkerjakan pilot dan Tenaga Alih Asing tanpa visa yang benar, terbang internasional tidak sesuai prosedur (di Indonesia; negara asing takut sogok kecuali Maldives dsb).

Auntie Susi Pudjiastuti and Christian von Strombeck just seen on Indonesian TV (SCTV, a bit biased but not so much as Metro, owner Surya Paloh, who is friends with Susi) reporting the loss of a Pilatus Porter with pilot Willis and pax Rosel, both fatalities. What nerve! Susi says she's grounding all 7 Porters but says nothing about the likelihood that bad maintenance on the fuel delivery system affects all aircraft potentially. So what do we see over Nusawiru, Cilulang this very day? A C208 Caravan circling low over the city as if nothing is wrong.

Two crashes ago, Susi grounded the fleet. Financial priorities have overtaken safety evidently. PK-VVQ was last checked at Nusawiru before staging back to Kalimantan where it crashed. This maintenance center is well-known, as is the illegal strip in Pangandaran built by egomaniac Susi for her own use, for sloppy maintenance. Witness the case last year of a screwdriver and spanner left under the cowl of a C208 by a careless mechanic. Send em to Boundary Bay if you want the PT-6's maintained, Susi, or just train using the Mechtronix simulator. No one wants a Van coming down their chimney in Cijulang!
