Who can help me out with the following, qatar has been hiring for a long time and I just found interesting information that I didn't knew!
They are also hiring international people for FAST TRACK SECOND OFFICERS!

What is this FTSO exactly, does somebody know, all information welcome!

Questions that came up with me:

Pay?

Bond for typerating?

how long before you will become a FO?

Anybody currently doing screening or in the selection proces?

Something else that came up was the following, on the website Qatar advertises the salary of the F/O & Captain as: $8100 & $11300.

Is that for the whole fleet or just the wide body? If it's on the wide body only, how much money do you make on short haul fleet?

Thanks in advance!:ok:

If you dont have any of these.....

A minimum of 1000 Hrs on a modern multi pilot, multi engine, turboprop aircraft greater than 12,000 Kgs MTOW

A minimum of 300 Hrs on a multi engine, multi crew jet aircraft

A minimum of 1500 Hrs on a multi crew multi engine helicopter

A minimum of 2000 Hrs Pilot in Command (PIC) on a single engine, single crew turboprop aircraft (Multi Crew Co-operation Certificate required)

.....then you can forget about becoming a second officer. Shame the system which existed 6 years ago isn't still in use where low houred guys could apply.

Not quite sure what you're referring to chillbill but as recently as 9 months ago there was certainly 200 hour guys coming through the system including a bunch of British, Dutch and Spanish boys and girls. I know, because I flew safety pilot for a bunch of them doing their first ever line flights on the A330. I left that  hell hole at the end of last year though so maybe things have changed.

I think you might be confusing the "fast track second officer" thing with the "normal 200 hour second officer" thing, I suggest you refer to THIS THREAD (http://www.pprune.org/middle-east/422773-qr-second-officer.html) which is up to date with all the latest QR S/O gossip. They chop and change their requirements all the time, you can understand why, when I tell you they had 5 different people doing the "chief pilot training" job in the 3 years I was there, and each one made different rules and requirements for hiring / firing / captain upgrade etc.

So even if they "did" decide to stop hiring 200 hour wonders for a few weeks I'm sure they will start again once the next batch of resignations gets handed in

Luke is correct. QR is still taking on fresh out of flight school SO's. Infact, there were interviews and assessments even up to a few weeks ago and these people are being sent out contracts now.

Aircraft to expect recently for low hour SO's is A320.

I suggest you visit Doha first and see if this place is for you.

Fresh ATPL 200 hours?
And what about their new requirements on the web site ?
These are too high and restrictive to become a second officer :ugh:.
I suppose that many of us with a frozen ATPL and a few hours flight out from a school have this idea.
What is the contact for the application with so few hours of flight and hope to be called for an interview, just like these guys as you wrote?
Thanks

I believe the offer is still there. Just fill in an apps form and send it off. However, it is very very competitive to even get an interview.

Like I posted a few hours ago, or do you require further verification?

Prerequisite of the job = able to read :hmm:

I flew safety pilot for a bunch of them doing their first ever line flights on the A330So that means they have already finished their training. My question was whether Q has recently upped the minimum hours for new entrants from 200 to 500.
