Hello
Can somebody tell me what would the alternate airfields be for Anchorage PANC/ANC for a cargo flight please. I ask this before there seems to be a few airport around there but the seem preety small for a 747F. If anybody could answer this please.

How about Elmendorf.....just up the road and of course Fairbanks, not too far.

Elmendorf is a U.S Air Force base. Eilson in Fairbanks is also a military base

We typically file for Elmendorf or Fairbanks, depending on the weather at either. The 2-engine ETP alternate coming from Russia or Hong Kong is often King Salmon or even Adak. I don't believe those would ever be used for a standard weather alternate though.

Coming from the west, Cold Bay and King Salmon.
In the local area Elmendorf (AFB).
To the north Fairbanks Intl and Eilson (AFB).
To the east, Whitehorse, Yukon Terr. Canada.

If the weather is on it's ass in Anchorage, it will be the same across the street @ Elmendorf.
We filed Fairbanks many times and only had to divert once if memory serves right. (A big IF...:sad:)
ANC is good about keeping the place open in nasty weather and if one can go CAT 2 or 3, odds of getting in should be great.
We've always use Fairbanks with the 124's

Not exactly, PANC will typically get fog off the inlet much sooner than PAED.
That being said, most everybody files and flies PAFA (225nm) as the alternate. Other than that only PAKN (250nm) and PACD (537nm) come to mind, but both are "off" the road map.
There's also a few military fields... PAFB, PAEI (250nm) and PABI (200nm).
