View Full Version : FR live flight information - "technical faults"?

Hi everyone,

I have a short and (hopefully) easy question:

Live Flight Information (http://www.ryanair.com/en/flight-info) gives live updates on FR flights and in most cases the reason for delays (ATC delay, security check congestion etc...)

What surprises me is that sometimes there is a sheer amount of "technical fault" delays, I have seen up to 15 of them at once. Does anyone know what the exact scope of this term is? Are they only faults that prevent safe flying, or does it include really minor things?

Thanks in advance for your help!

A worried (in general, not FR-related) flyer.

Having just looked at that page it occurs to me that it shows the knock on effect of a delay quite clearly. If you find a flight early in the day that is delayed, then scroll down you will see that the next sector that the aircraft is due to fly is also delayed. And the one after that, and the one after that etc.

Your 15 delays due to technical faults were probably only due to 3 or 4 individual aircraft, but they were unable to make up the time lost and so impacted several different sectors.
