Within the last two days I have experienced tremendous problems trying to download this site. Sometimes it can take 5 minutes or more for the page to download.

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium

Interestingly enough the problem only happens on the PPRUNE Site. All the other sites are virtually instant downloads.

I am running AVG AV Programme, have done a virus scan and nothing was discovered. Also have a copy of Spybot which I ran to see if there was any Malware somewhere on the Laptop. The Programme did not find anything so I am baffled.

Does anyone out there have any idea what may be wrong?

Thank You

I have had similar snags and used the tool provided by MS at their site HERE (http://support.microsoft.com/mats/ie_performance_and_safety/en-us) to fix IE.

THIS (http://support.microsoft.com/fixit/?WT.mc_id=SMCPSC_ENUS_ADR_FIXIT)is the landing page for all snags.

Let us know how you get on.

Thank you for your suggestions. I have carried out all the "Fix iT" as suggested, but for some reason PPRUNE still takes an inordinate time to load up 3 - 4 minutes so there must be something somewhere slowing down the process.
The interesting thing is this slowing down only affects PPRUNE Site.... someone out there must have experienced a similar situation... I am baffled ....

Try installing FireFox or SRWare Iron browsers and see if it's still slow, if it is then it's down to your ISP if not it's IE9

Get More From Your Firefox (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/fx/)

SRWare Iron - The Browser of the Future (http://www.srware.net/en/software_srware_iron_download.php)

Thank you for those that offered suggestions to rectify the problems I was experiencing.
The problem turned out to be twofold (1) Compatibility problem - apparently IE9 has a problem with some sites which are not compatible
(2)The Links encryption language had somehow or other got unticked in the box so the downloaded pages were only partially recognised resulting in taking a long time to download and pictures not being displayed
Thank you all for your time and trouble

pprune uses vBulletin 3.8.7 which is a minor upgrade from version 3.6 that it used earlier. There were certainly compatibility issues with IE8 and 3.6. Another similar forum uses version 4.1.3 and has no issues with IE9 while it runs in compatiblity mode.

With Pprune, despite it being listed in Compatibility View does not show a CV symbol on the address bar. The Compatibility View in the Tools menu is also greyed out.
