Forgive the intrusion from an ex military chap but i live and work in Inverness. The airport shuts i believe at 2230.

I work for Tesco (someone has to) on nights. The one i am in is directly under the app to Dalcross, if your coming in from the town side (obviously)

Regular as clockwork at 02 50 were out having a smoke (were lepers i know) a twin prop appears heading for Dalcross.

Its not landing at Deadloss. The wheels are down and its below 2000ft.

Any clues ??

Thanks

It's difficult for us mere mortals to estimate height of an aircraft accurately. Kinloss is over 20 miles away so if it was heading there one might expect it to be around 6000 ft.. Otherwise, dunno.. sorry.

It's a Loganair SAAB 340 on the mail-flight from Edinburgh, it then departs to Stornoway at around 06.30.

Its either G-GNTB or G-GNTF(Loganair Saab 340's) on the night mail. Gets in just before 0300. If its coming over Tescos then its probably just flown the arc to Ils procedure for 05. Theres also Benair's Shorts 360 which brings night freight in too, usually arrives before the Saab.

the ben air S360 has been gone for a while now, the only a/c ben air have at inv reguarly is the L410. mail flights at night are S340 from EDI and an ATP from EMA.

to see logs of all a/c movments at INV go to
