Waddington Air Show where to view

May seem like a strange request but I want to know if anyone can recommend a location outside the airfield where I can get a decent view without going inside, I am aware of the usual layby but on a show day I presume there are restrictions in place.

Reason for the request is I only want to see the Thunderbirds and dont have a whole day spare.

Any locals assist please.

i've seen the thunderbirds a couple of times before, their routine is pretty boring to be honest. it's only impressive in respect of the sound that a handful of F-16s make in close proximity to one another...

i'm guessing the closest you can get to the runway is on the A15, where the threshold to rwy 20 is. you always get people hanging around on the street there.
