Hi there

We're heading up to Werneth Low near Stockport and would like to have a look at the aircraft beacon that is supposedly there.

I cant find anything on it on Google so does anyone know if it is still there or have a picture of it at all?

Thanx lots in advance.

AFAIK, the nearest "beacon" would be the OLDham NDB taken OOS yonks ago. There is a marker on Werneth Low, showing range and bearing to various landmarks...is that the item you are looking for?

Thanx lots but not quite, it was a proper beacon but if there isnt one its not a problem anyhow:)

In fact we probably wont be going now. Too strenuous for the fella after a hrd weeks work:)

Thanx lots anyway:)

What do you mean by a beacon? A VOR, NDB, Fan marker (unlikely now).....?

Donnlass Having done ATC at Manch for 20+ years I have never heard of any nav aids on Werneth Low. there is a nice clubhouse up there though.
