I saw what i thought looked like a pair of Hunters flying in close formation over Shoreham approx 19.00hrs Sunday 19th heading in an ENE direction. Just curious where they were coming from, going to etc etc. Much obliged.

Maybe the two Dutch Hunters that had been displaying at Kemble going home?

Thanks sedburgh, i guess that would make sense, especially as there are so few airworthy hunters around these days. They must have headed south and then along the south coast to avoid the London TMA. Where are said Hunters based ?

Any of you plane nuts know? We had a Hunter parked at the edge of our CCF parade ground at Solihull School late 50s to later 60s. How come it got there , and why did it vanish , and to whom/where?

AFAIK, it was the second P1067 (prototype) Hunter, relegated to use as a ground instructional airframe and subsequently scrapped.

If I'm right, here it is at Farnborough in 1952:

Perhaps it's been sent somewhere for repainting in a slightly less awful colour scheme. :O
