i have just read with great interesta book following a b744 from lhw/hkg.during the flight the 2 f/officers were at the controls the the captain was on his rest break.in the event of a emergency,would the co pilots "send a signal" too the rest bunk for the capt. too return,would 1 of them physically go and get him.?the other question,would the skipper get in the jump seat and monitor or get back in the left seat.finally the co pilot was leaving the 7474 too go on the 777,would that be intially as fisrt officer??thanks in advance....brs planespotter

All depends on airline policy and the Captain's orders.
Generally one of the pilots in the seat would ring the call in the bunkroom. It is unlikely either of them would get out of the seat until the non-normal checklists were completed.
Depending on the severity of the emergency, the PM/PNF might then go to the bunkroom to roust the Captain if he did not come quickly enough for them.
The Captain would likely monitor from the jumpseat, at least until he fully woke up and any required reports were made. If there was nothing else to do, he might go back to the bunk. If a divert or further action was necessary, he'd likely get back in the seat.
A 747 FO going to the 777 would normally be bidding a Capt position, though it depends a lot on the individual airline...
