Which a/c carry HF radio.

Hi guys...radio has always been an interest of mine...I found oceanic Aviation HF interesting when I had an HF receiver,

Just to satisfies my curiosity...do all modern a/c have HF radio fitted ie your average Easyjet or Ryan air 737/Airbus or for that matter say the like of Dash 8s,

Or will it be only dedicated long haul types.

I believe Ryanair have them fitted for their delivery flight, but it is removed before entry into service.

It depends what the company deems necessary. Since HF radio doesn't really cost us anything we have it in all our 737s, dunno about our A320s. Of course the A330s have it as well, but they use primarily datalink via SATCOM on longer over-water routes.

Mmmm interesting, so datalink via SATCOM is used i place of HF radio...have I got that right.
