Hi there,

I have completed my 61.58 recently. In order to get my Bermudian validation all my docs have been sent to BDCA.
I've got very interesting answer, see below:

"...I do not see and Instrument competency on the PPC could you get the FAA TRE to confirm that Mr. XXXXX conducted an Instrument competency...."

Needless to say, that training included low vis take-offs, single-engine ILS approaches etc.

Any comments?

A 61.58 is essentialy an instrument excercise with the required pilot demonstrations documented by the FAA. If you completed this with CAE or FliteSafety they provide the client with paperwork itemising the actions performed, if it was completed in the aircraft then similar paperwork should have been generated. Whereas the FAA will accept that the 61.58 must have included the basic requirements, validations usualy require itemised documentation. Bermuda has tightened up its act after years of being slated as "just another flag of convenience".
