Tried searching for this but no joy.

Have a potential job offer in the US. Can anyone help me with the process required, I want to know the process before I speak with the company again so that I don't sound like a hassel option if hired.

Regardless of licencing for the moment just require info on the work permit side of things.

1. whats the process?

2. whats required of my potential employers?

Thanks in advance

I don't have many answers for you but you will get more replies by posting this in the N. American forum. I doubt that an employer will sponsor you because there are 100s of pilots unemployed here, but good luck.

The way I understand it is, for a foreigner to take up employment in the USA the employer is required to advertise that position for a minimum amount of time and prove there is no US citizen available for the job. Then starts the process of satisfying the requirements of a work permit.

The chances of there not being American pilots available I would think are pretty slim.

To emigrate under one's own steam I think is a fairly lengthy process with a high bar.
